gm06.jpg (13069 bytes) The interviewer asked if it was a more profound experience to touch the audience as a singer or as a writer.

Neil replied that it didn't matter to him.  He enjoyed producing beautiful sound. He liked the silence and then the beauty. gm08.jpg (10732 bytes)

Film was then shown from the Making of the Movie Album.

Neil was shown singing .............

As Time Goes By.

gm11.jpg (10752 bytes) He went on to say there was such a treasure trove of great music to be found in the movies.  At first he had been intimidated by the thought but he felt he had been singing for a few years and could lend something of himself to the songs and that's what he hoped he had done.

Love with the Proper Stranger was then shown.

Neil went on to say that they had recorded the album without a rhythm section. He had had to lead the rest of the orchestra. At first he had found it daunting but once he got into the swing of things he had enjoyed the experience.

The interviewer went on to say that Neil was taking the new album out on the road. It was not with all of the 80 piece orchestra but with a scaled down version consisting of his band of twenty years.

He went on to say that Neil Diamond was not going to coast through these next golden years.

Neil added  - "In my business you can't coast.  If you're in it, you've got to do it full speed.  You have to really love it and care for it. When you're ready to coast, that's the time to get out."
